MADRID, 22 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The spokesperson for the Socialist Parliamentary Group in the Senate, Eva Granados, has described as “sneaky” the motion presented by the Popular Party in the Senate – which will be addressed in plenary session next week – to force the Government to review the law of ‘only yes is yes’ and has assured that “it is poorly done”.

At a press conference after the meeting of the Board of Spokespersons, Granados criticized the fact that the PP is taking an initiative to the Senate to “defend the rights of half the population that they are denying through their pacts” with those of Santiago Abascal . In addition, he has stressed that the PP is the party that “systematically” has been voting against and resorting to the Constitutional Court “all the advances in women’s rights carried out by the PSOE.”

Granados has assured that the motion is a “botch” because “it cannot be urgently reformed by the Government through a Royal Decree what are fundamental rights.” “It’s just that it’s poorly done,” he asserted.

In addition, according to the parliamentarian, it is an “insult to the intelligence” of the Upper House as a whole. “If the gentlemen of the PP who voted against a law that improves the situation of victims of sexual violence had some kind of interest in improving the situation of women in our country, they would not have made a tricky motion, but would have been in contact with the government or parliamentary groups”, he assured.

However, he has assured that the initiative itself “wants to confront and create a mess” around an issue “that is a good law.”

On the other hand, the PSOE spokeswoman sees “worrying” that the leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, continues “in silence” in the face of information about the assets of the senator and mayoress of Marbella, Ángeles Muñoz. Thus, he has wondered what Feijóo is going to do after he has been “proven” that he has hidden her heritage for three years from the Senate.

In addition, he has announced that the Socialist Group is studying what measures they can take “to preserve the good name of this House”. “We have to see if there is any way that this senator can clarify before the House what her estate really is,” she added.
