How does Cooptalis ?
Amber-Ocean Lavesque : Our ambition is to make international mobility easier – both for employers and professionals – and to help local businesses to fill their needs of labor. We have two types of approach : an approach that is “packaged” in which we offer all of our services, which includes the whole process of expatriation (recruitment, immigration management, relocation, advice to applicants and training possible, in particular, on the linguistic part), and an approach “a la carte”. Some companies may in fact need of we only on the part of immigration or relocation.
according to the needs of our clients, we focus on the country of recruitment, and we call upon our on-site teams – in particular, we are present in Morocco, Tunisia, Belgium, Romania, Poland and Vietnam.
Our services are totally free for the candidate, but this does not mean that it no longer has a cost to the… to Immigrate to Quebec, this is not from Dubai with an employee status expatriate ! Businesses pay only very seldom the plane tickets, and even less the conversion of the spouse, for example.
After a little more than a year of existence, what is the activity report of the office Cooptalis Montreal ?
A-O. L. : last year, we achieved a little more than 80 recruitments, of which about 70% French. It must be said that many companies have the knowledge of French as a selection criterion. The level of education of the French professionals and their ways of working are also recognized here, not to mention that our compatriots are eager to settle in Quebec !
Sandra Henderson : We also have an entity called “Cooptalis digital” which enables us to recruit, throughout the year, workers in information technology, a sector on which the applications are strong in Quebec. These people are hired by Cooptalis digital as consultants and québec companies in which they are in mission have the option of salarier once the professionals get their permanent residence. It is a way for us to anticipate the needs of businesses and to free ourselves of the times of immigration, which are particularly long (eight to nine months minimum). A dozen consultants, all French nationals, are currently working for Cooptalis digital, and we expect a twenty hires additional.

apart from the technologies of the information, what are the other sectors that are recruiting in the Province ?
A-O. L. : the health field (nurses, caregivers) is in severe shortage, like that of the construction. Watch out however, because these sectors are governed by professional orders, and the foreign workers are not necessarily immediately a position equivalent to the one they had in their countries of origin. The industrial sector also enrolls a lot, with a very wide spectrum (engineers in aerospace-aerospace, industrial mechanics, technicians on production lines, etc)
S. H. : The quebec market has a lot of needs, and not only in Montreal. The applications are very strong in the regions, not to mention that the integration can be facilitated… In cities such as Sherbrooke, Drummondville or Trois-Rivières, employers are so much in need of aid that they put in place the accompaniments for the expatriates. The shortage makes itself felt especially on profiles “blue-collar” : the technicians in assembly plants, welders, machinists, etc
You want to also position yourself on the recruitment of these workers manuals…
A-O. L . : Yes. Cooptalis has three entities – in France, Romania and Vietnam – specialized on these profiles and bridges already exist to support mobility between these countries. We would like to add a “fourth bridge”, with Quebec, because we have potential candidates.
The problem, at the present time, it is that there is not necessarily a case of immigration procedures that are adapted to the volume and needs of the business on these profiles to blue-collar workers. The time and cost demotivate employers. We would like to work on a “package” to offer and to develop that offer current, 2020, early 2021.

Work in Canada
Canada : new rules for temporary workers and PVTistes temporary foreign Workers in Canada : what are the solutions to overcome the crisis ? Employment and business in Canada, the must-see sites
A-O. L. : Don’t be afraid of temporary work permits ! The companies that we seek to propose as a general rule, visas two or three years, but these permits are levers very interesting to then apply for permanent residence and settle in Québec in the long term.
S. H. : also Attention to the question of language : an intermediate level in English is required, especially in Montreal. It is necessary that the candidates can be functional in English in groups, they can give their opinion in a meeting, etc, Has noted, however, that in the regions, it is more the French predominates.
