The period is rather lean in the area of communications. For all that, young people continue to support these trades. Is wrong? Not necessarily… if you build a profile many-sided. Explanations.

the Glory and the glitter… young graduates in communication can they even consider it? This dream proves to be more difficult to achieve, because, according to the professionals, there are many called and few are chosen and the level of demand is increasingly high. “In times of crisis, companies no longer have the means to create events!”, says Marie-Céline Hid, founder of the communication agency Ozinfos.

A supply shortfall in CDI

Veronique Speltdoorn, founder and head of the recruitment firm digital Accile, drives the point : “The number of vacancies in the sector is insufficient to absorb the young graduates in communication, who each year, arrive on the labour market.”

It is also necessary to know how to handle some software and be comfortable with new technologies. Finally, the opening up of new markets is essential, and proficiency in foreign languages plays a crucial role. If the English course is part of the prerequisite for all communicators, “other languages can prove to be very useful,” says Corinne Longuet.

“A generalist training (law, business, management, management, human sciences…), enabling it to expand its horizon and develop its autonomy is to be welcomed”, shade Marie-Céline Hid.
