Jaume Asens admits that they are disappointed with their partner and asks that the monitoring commission be convened to “smooth rough edges”
MADRID, 28 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The president of the United We Can parliamentary group in Congress, Jaume Asens, has warned the PSOE that every time it “looks to its right”, as in his opinion happened with the Audiovisual Law, PP and Vox are closer to Moncloa .
Therefore, he urges the Socialists to recompose the investiture block and “coddle” both the leftist groups and their coalition partner, since they are “disappointed” with the behavior of the Socialists. However, it reduces this division at the time of voting on this text to a “specific discrepancy”, although it is the first time that it happens in a project that emanates from the Executive itself.
He has also pointed out in statements to the RNE program ‘Parliament’, collected by Europa Press, that it is convenient to have a “greater dialogue” between the two wings of the Executive and, in this sense, he proposes that the coalition’s monitoring commission meet .
“This commission meets infrequently, it is a sign that things are going well but for them to go better it is necessary to have more dialogue in the space to iron out rough edges. We would think it necessary to convene that commission to strengthen the coalition”, Asens reasoned. .
The leader of En Comú Podem has explained that they opted for abstention in the Audiovisual Law, given that the regulations ended up “denaturalizing” as it went from an initial consensus with the leftist parties to a “law agreed with PP and Citizens”.
Moreover, he regretted that the final text, as a result of some PSOE amendments; bet on the large audiovisual corporations “to the detriment” of the independent productive fabric in film and television, which are now “threatened in their survival”.
However, Asens has minimized the repercussions of this divergence between the partners, given that there have been other previous differences that are “normal” in two spaces with “different trajectories and ideological positions.”
Moreover, the leader of the confederal space has pointed out that this discrepancy is not only with United We Can but also with the rest of the leftist parties, so his partner must choose between working with the multinational investiture bloc, which gives him “stability ” and guarantees a different management from that of the PP, or “look at your right”.
“We think that every time you look to your right, (Alberto Núñez) Feijóo and (Santiago) Abascal are closer to Moncloa”, Asens warned to emphasize that to avoid this possibility, the progressive majority must be resumed in the middle of the “curve of legislature”.
