Worldcoin has recently joined forces with Dune in a collaborative effort to boost data accessibility on its blockchain network, World Chain. The Worldcoin Foundation made the announcement of this partnership on October 11, revealing their plans to utilize Dune to ensure that users globally can access the blockchain network.
The partnership involves Dune working closely with Worldcoin (WLD), Tools for Humanity, and the Worldcoin Foundation to provide transparency for on-chain data accessibility on World Chain. This collaboration comes just before the impending mainnet launch of the blockchain.
Through this joint effort, users of World Chain, including developers, will have the ability to delve into on-chain metrics related to real humans, decentralized finance protocols, exchanges, and various other blockchain-based public projects.
Worldcoin, a project that was established by Sam Altman, one of the co-founders of OpenAI, has encountered several obstacles since its inception in July 2023. Despite facing regulatory challenges and controversies surrounding its token supply, the project has witnessed a notable rise in iris scanning and verification.
In 2024, Worldcoin introduced its World ID verification product in European nations like Poland and Austria, while also expanding its presence in Asia and South America. However, the company has encountered difficulties in jurisdictions such as Hong Kong, Spain, and Portugal.
The company revealed its plans to launch World Chain in April, showcasing a blockchain that is constructed on OP Stack. To introduce this new blockchain, Worldcoin partnered with web3 platform Alchemy.
World Chain is designed to integrate with World ID, World App, and the Worldcoin cryptocurrency. Additionally, it will connect with Ethereum (ETH) and Optimism (OP) as part of the Superchain.
Users who verify their identity on the chain to demonstrate their humanity will benefit from features like priority block space and transactions without gas fees. This collaboration between Worldcoin and Dune signifies a significant step towards enhancing data accessibility within the blockchain network for users across the globe.
