MADRID, 23 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The President of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelenski, has called this Monday during his speech at the Davos Forum “real sanctions” against Russia that force Moscow to “pay for its aggressive actions” as a result of the invasion of Ukrainian territory.
“The world has not yet imposed sanctions against Russia that force the country to pay for its actions,” said the president, who stressed that “any potential aggressor who wants to start a brutal war against his neighbor knows exactly where he is going.”
Thus, he stressed that it is necessary to impose an “embargo on Russian oil and a total block to all banks, without exception.” “We must completely abandon the Russian information technology sector and the complete cessation of trade with the aggressor,” she said.
In this sense, Zelenski has pointed out that the behavior of the international community must serve as a “precedent to exert pressure”, something that “will serve to maintain peace for decades”. For this reason, he has insisted on the need to “set a precedent” and abandon “the Russian market so that international brands are not associated with war crimes or used by criminals with bloodthirsty interests.”
“Values ??must matter, especially when there is a large-scale war going on and global markets have been destabilized because someone is not respecting values. We will all bear the losses,” he said.
In addition, he has defended that Ukraine has offered all companies that leave Russia to continue operating in the country. “They will gain access not only to the market but also to the common European market and at the same time the position of those brands will be strengthened due to the fact that they support freedom,” she said.
“If brute force dominates, then there is no need to meet in Davos,” he stressed before maintaining that “brute force does not argue, it only kills.”
