VALENCIA, 20 Dec. (EUROPA PRESS) –

This Wednesday, the Research Foundation of the General Hospital of Valencia presented a scientific business innovation unit with the mission of “contributing to the advancement of science and health for the benefit of society.”

This initiative was announced at the ‘I health innovation day’, which took place in the auditorium of the General University Hospital Consortium of València and was attended by the general directorate of Research and Innovation, Mariola Penadés, as reported by the Generalitat in a statement.

The scientific business innovation unit of the Research Foundation of the General Hospital of Valencia aims to “promote and energize collaboration with the technological environment and companies of the Valencian Community for the development of products, services and technologies.” The project has been financed by the Valencian Innovation Agency (AVI).

In this sense, Penadés has highlighted the “promotion of stable and long-term collaborations between the industrial and business spheres with the scientific and university spheres.” “These synergies are essential to value, energize and exploit the developments achieved between professionals,” he added.

With this project, the Valencia-General Hospital health department “consolidates itself in R&D matters,” he defended. At the same time, he has highlighted the “commitment” of the Ministry of Health to “promoting translational research and creating environments conducive to the development of new ideas.”

“It is a reflection of our conviction that research and innovation are fundamental pillars to provide the best possible care to our citizens. We investigate because patients need more research,” he added.

In addition, the day had a ‘demo area’, where research projects that had been carried out by the research staff of the Research Foundation of the General Hospital of Valencia were exhibited. Among them, ‘Nososens’, which has developed a system for the early detection and prevention of nosocomial diseases in a hospital environment.

‘Extratube’, the project he created for an expandable endotracheal tube, has also been exhibited. Both have been financed by the AVI in the 2023 call. The conference also featured the intervention of the head of the AVI Innovation unit, Silvia Sánchez, who presented the ‘AVI lines of support for strengthening of the productive fabric of the Valencian Community’.
