MADRID, 21 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The leader of the Brothers of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, has said that she is “ready” to form a government, after a meeting with the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, in which she confirmed that she has the “unanimous” support of the coalition right-wing tripartite
The meeting of this coalition with Mattarella has been brief, about ten minutes, and after it Meloni has confirmed that he has the clear support of his partners. “We want to proceed in the shortest time possible,” she told the media, surrounded by the leader of the League, Matteo Salvini, and that of Forza Italia, Silvio Berlusconi.
The latter has published on Twitter a photo of the Forza Italia team that has attended the meeting at the Quirinal and has promised to have a “decisive contribution” in the formation of the new cabinet, for which there is no stipulated deadline.
“The team is ready”, Salvini has also emphasized, in statements to the Rai chain before the expected meeting.
If Mattarella confirms Meloni as a potential minister, the three parties will have to agree to divide up the ministries. After this procedure, Meloni should meet again with the president, who has the capacity to filter that list if he considers any of the names presented inadmissible.
