MADRID, 17 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Moldova’s President Maia Sandu has warned that her country will take “protective measures” if Russia in any way threatens its sovereignty and territorial integrity, after three Russian missiles flew over Moldovan airspace last week.

“The security of our citizens has been our main concern since the first day of the war (…) from the first weeks of hostilities, we have addressed our partners with a request to help improve our defense capacity,” he said. saying.

In this sense, Sandu has asserted that the Moldovan authorities continue “negotiating” with their allies in strengthening national defense, and has pointed out that when there are “more concrete results”, they will be announced, according to the News Maker portal.

Last week three Russian missiles flew over Moldovan airspace before hitting several locations in western Ukraine. From the Ministry of Defense of Romania, a neighboring country of Moldova, it was detailed that the missiles could come from Russian military bases on the Crimean peninsula.

Already at that time Sandu condemned what happened, assuring that it was “a serious violation of airspace”, as well as the “neutrality of Moldova”. “Moldova is a peaceful country, we have said it many times,” the president said then.
