MADRID, 18 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Russian authorities have dismissed on Tuesday the latest round of measures imposed by Canada in response to the war in Ukraine, assuring that “they will not cause any problems” to the sanctioned individuals and entities.
“There is no innovation. I am convinced that these sanctions will not cause any problems or discomfort for the vast majority of the people mentioned,” Kremlin spokesman Dimitri Peskov said.
However, the Russian representative has taken the opportunity to criticize the sanctions, which he considers “a pernicious practice” that “has no analogues in the world and defies all explanation,” reports the Russian news agency Interfax.
Canada on Monday imposed a round of new sanctions against 34 individuals and a Russian entity involved in spreading disinformation and propaganda that serve as a pretext for Russia’s “unjustified” war against Ukraine.
