MADRID, 21 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Russian authorities have clarified that an exact date has not yet been set for the end of the partial mobilization announced by the president, Vladimir Putin, in the context of the war in Ukraine.
This was confirmed this Friday by the Kremlin spokesman, Dimitri Peskov, just a few days after the authorities of both the city and the Moscow region announced the end of recruitment.
Likewise, Peskov has qualified the words of Putin himself, who last Friday announced that the partial mobilization would come to an end within two weeks. “There is no precise date,” Peskov said.
On September 21, the Russian president signed a decree for the partial mobilization in the country in order to recruit citizens to fight in the war with its neighboring country, which began at the end of February.
On that day, the Russian Defense Minister announced that the objective of the measure was to recruit 300,000 people, although last week Putin acknowledged that 220,000 had been mobilized so far.
