MADRID, 11 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Ukrainian authorities have denounced this Saturday the impact of several missiles on the region of the city of Zaporizhia, specifically against a “critical infrastructure”.
The Zaporizhia Military Administration has explained on Telegram that it is an attack “against a vital installation” in the center of the region and has stressed that the appropriate response means have already been mobilized, according to the Ukrinform news agency.
“Hundreds of thousands of civilians live there, many of whom have had to leave their homes and flee the Russian occupation,” the Ukrainian military administration said. The UNIAN news agency has confirmed two explosions and has pointed out that the projectiles were launched from Tokmak.
“Today, in broad daylight, the enemy has again attacked Zaporizhia,” denounced the mayor of Zaporizhia, Anatoli Kurtev, who has confirmed a fire caused by a Russian projectile in the center of the region.
Zaporizhia is a city in eastern Ukraine controlled by Ukrainian forces, but it should not be confused with the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant, which has been under Russian control for a year. On March 9, Russia launched a wave of missile attacks against kyiv, Nikolaev, Kharkiv, Odesa, Zaporizhia, Yitomir, Ivano-Frankivsk, Khmelnitsky, Ternopil and Lviv.
Russian Defense Minister Oleksi Reznikov denounced this Saturday that Russia has launched more than 820 cruise missiles towards Ukraine since October 2022.
Meanwhile, Moscow has reported military victories in Prechistovka and Ugledar, in the Donetsk region, near Zaporizhia, with air strikes and artillery fire that reportedly killed 70 Ukrainian soldiers and destroyed three armored vehicles, a car and a D-20 howitzer.
Finally, the Ukrainian electricity company Ukrenergo has announced the end of the restrictions on the electricity supply in kyiv imposed to achieve the stabilization of the system.
