MADRID, 20 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Ukrainian authorities have denounced this Thursday that the latest attacks on the city of Mikolaiv (south) with kamikaze drones have once again fallen on civilian infrastructure, including an educational center.
The press service of the regional government has reported that the attacks took place in the early hours of this Thursday. “The enemy has again attacked Mikolaiv with Shahed-136 kamikaze drones”, of which four of them hit one of the city’s educational institutions, while another fell on private property.
“As a consequence of these, there were two fires that were quickly extinguished. No victims. The information on the extent of the damage is being clarified,” as read in the statement from the authorities, which also highlights that Ukrainian forces were able to shoot down a further nine of these drones.
“The shelling of the territory and settlements near the community of Berezneguvat continues,” added the statement, which also said that Russian forces launched mortar attacks in the direction of the port of Ochakiv.
Earlier in the week, Mikolaiv was one of the targets of a renewed Russian offensive on several Ukrainian cities. The balance in this region was several civilian buildings destroyed and one person deceased.
