MADRID, 18 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dimitro Kuleba confirmed on Tuesday that the Ukrainian authorities will send an official note to Israel requesting the “immediate” supply of air defense systems.
Likewise, Kuleba has pointed out that kyiv seeks to “begin high-quality cooperation” with Jerusalem to “obtain appropriate technologies for Ukraine,” according to the Ukrainian news agency UNIAN.
However, the highest representative of Ukrainian diplomacy has acknowledged that it is difficult to change Israel’s mind regarding opening up to cooperate in air defense, an aspect in which Israel stands out with its so-called ‘Iron Dome’.
“We do not see any objective reason why this should not happen, but at the same time we see that this is not happening,” Kuleba lamented, who nevertheless believes that the alleged supply of Iranian drones to Russia may end up convincing Jerusalem.
“Iran is a ‘red line’ for Israel. After Iran has become directly complicit in the crime of aggression against Ukraine, I think that anyone in Israel who still has some doubts about whether or not to help Ukraine, these will be will have dissipated,” he said.
Finally, Kuleba has insisted on his criticism of those countries that claim to remain neutral in the conflict because, according to him, the policy of neutrality “does not contribute to achieving peace”, something that will only be achieved with “decisive support for Ukraine “.
