ERC plans to consult its bases on an eventual agreement to invest the acting President of the Government and PSOE candidate for the Presidency, Pedro Sánchez.
Submitting an agreement to its bases is a proposal from the ERC leadership that has been validated this Friday afternoon by the National Council of the party, which has addressed the talks on this investiture.
ERC also consulted its membership in 2019 during the negotiation to invest Sánchez: its bases endorsed the position of the party leadership to reject the investiture without setting up a dialogue table.
Precisely maintaining this dialogue is one of the conditions that ERC has marked to facilitate the investiture of Sánchez, for which they also ask to address the fiscal deficit and the transfer of Rodalies, as the president of the Generalitat, the republican Pere Aragonès, said during the campaign.
On this occasion and facing the talks after the general elections last Sunday, ERC and Junts have opted to form a common front to negotiate.
The Republican leadership has also announced that after the summer it will convene informative territorial assemblies to jointly analyze with the militancy the general political situation and the party after the municipal and general elections to face the new political course.
The formation has begun this week a process of internal dialogue, commissioned by the National Council after the municipal ones, with territorial and sectoral representation, to face “the organizational and communication improvements with the aim of laying the modernizing bases of the party based on its own parameters of the 21st century”.
“This is a process of dialogue that must unravel the keys to recovering the majority trust of the citizenry,” highlight the Republicans, who add that the process will last until the end of the year to present the conclusions at the beginning of 2024.
