Sales of silver bullion coins are up in January
The United States Mint launched 2022 with American Eagle Silver bullion coins sales in January, which are 4.7% more than the 2021 sales.
Sales of Silver American Eagles to authorized purchasers around the world in January reached 5,001,000, compared to 4,775,000 coins for January 2021 and 3,846,000 coins for January 2020.
On February 7, 2022, sales added 480,500 American Eagle 1-ounce.999 silver dollars.
February. 7th, 2022: Gold sales totaled 20,000 ounces — 19,500 in 1-ounce coins and 500 in tenth-ounce coin. Each coin has its full troyweight of gold. The coins are slightly heavier than their gold content because they contain additional silver and copper.
January 2021 American Eagle Gold Coin Sales – 191,000 ounces of 1-ounce coins, 11,000 ounces of half-ounce coins, 9,000 ounces quarter-ounce coins and 9,500 ounces tenth-ounce coin sales
January 2020 American Eagle Gold sales totaled 38,000 ounces of 1-ounce coins, 11,500 in half-ounce coin coins, 4,500 ounces each in quarter-ounce coins and 6,600 ounces each in tenth-ounce.
January 2022 American Buffalo 1-ounce.999 gold bullion coins sold at a total of 61,500, the same amount as in January 2021. Additional 5,000 coins were also sold February 7, 2022.
January 2020 sales were only 21,000 coins
The U.S. Mint has not yet offered the 2022 1 ounce.9995 palladium or fine platinum bullion coins in its American Eagles program.
Intermittent 2021 Platinum Coin Sales reached 75,000, compared with 56,500 in 2020.
In 2021, 8,700 Palladium 1-ounce.9995 Coins were sold. The Mint did not offer any palladium bullion coins dated 2020.
