The leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, will appear this noon from 2:00 p.m. to assess the electoral results of the regional and municipal elections and the decision of the Chief Executive, Pedro Sánchez, to advance the general elections, a movement that has taken by surprise at the headquarters of the ‘popular’.
Specifically, the PP has announced that Feijóo will make “a statement to the media at the party’s national headquarters, after the meeting of the Management Committee” of the PP, which has received him standing and with applause after the victory harvested for the party in the elections this Sunday, where the party has dyed the map of Spain blue.
Several leaders of the PP have coincided this Monday in expressing their “anger” and “discomfort” with the surprise announcement of the head of the Executive to advance the general elections to next July 23, elections that will be held in the middle of the summer holidays and in the middle of the season tourism for many autonomies.
In addition, PP sources have indicated that with this maneuver it seeks to divert the focus from the victory of the Popular Party this Sunday, since, according to what they add, the campaign will coincide with the constitution of the municipal and regional governments that came out of the polls.
The leader of the PP, Alberto Nuñez Feijóo, has learned the news about the electoral advance in the middle of the meeting of the PP steering committee, where he has been applauded by his people at the beginning of the meeting after the results of May 28, which the ‘ popular’ they see as the beginning of a “cycle change” that leaves “K.O.” Pedro Sanchez.
The PP, which says it is “ready” to face the appointment with the polls, has scheduled a press conference after that meeting. It will be this Tuesday when there is a more in-depth analysis in the National Board of Directors of the party, the highest body between congresses.
