The ‘popular’ reproach the minister that a week has passed and she still has not reached an agreement with Equality to reform the law
MADRID, 15 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Minister of Justice, Pilar Llop, has accused the PP of “frivolizing” with what is known as the ‘only yes is yes’ law and of crossing the line “from opportunistic to opportunistic”. “It is a real lack of respect for the victims,” ??she said.
This has been pronounced in the Congress of Deputies in the framework of an urgent interpellation urged by the PP to request explanations about the indefinite strike of Lawyers of the Administration of Justice (LAJ) that began on January 24, although the deputy ‘ popular’ Luis Santamaría has taken the opportunity to reproach the minister that a week has already passed and there is still no progress in the reform of the Organic Law of Comprehensive Guarantee of Sexual Freedom.
“Last week he assumed first-hand responsibility for the consequences of the botched law of ‘only yes is yes’, which has only served to reduce the sentence of 519 convicts and release another 50”, said the deputy for then add: “We continue in the same place where we left it”.
“Are the walls of the Ministry so wide that you have not heard the clamor of a country that is seeing how the sentences of some monsters are reduced?”, he stressed.
Llop has made Santamaría ugly for having begun his questioning “talking about a matter too dramatic to trivialize as you have done.” “It is a real lack of respect for the victims. It has crossed the line from what is opportune to what is opportunistic,” he insisted.
The leader of the PP has asked the minister “what else has to happen for her to assume the corresponding responsibilities”. And he has stressed that while discounts continue to be applied, Llop “remains focused” on what, as he has said, is “important” for her: “to save relations with the Ministry of Podemos”.
The head of Justice has criticized the fact that she has devoted part of her speech to matters unrelated to the interpellation requested. “She has talked about any other subject except the subject for which she has questioned me,” she said.
In his second turn of speech, the ‘popular’ deputy has responded to the minister: “Mrs. Llop, you have lost a magnificent opportunity to show a little respect to the victims of the only yes is yes”.
