Under the motto “Do Sport for the Planet”, the Nationale-Nederladen Plogging Tour community has become a world reference for sports and nature lovers. After the stop in Madrid, the event will be held next Sunday June 4 in the city of Barcelona and offers three ways of participating in the Montjuïc mountain and the future Montjuïc 360 trail: popular 5.6 km race, Plogging Pro of 11 km and the Multiadventure Families circuit
With the aim of promoting physical activity and raising awareness about the importance of conserving natural surroundings and green areas through Sport and regenerative culture, the Nationale-Nederlanden Plogging Tour, together with Barcelona City Council, and with the support of the General Secretariat for Sport and Physical Activity of the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Higher Sports Council (CSD) land in Barcelona. It will do so on June 4, the third date of the 7 cities through which this initiative will travel throughout the year, which has all the sports attractions, but also environmental, recreational and social attractions. The route of the Nationale-Nederlanden Plogging Tour is an adaptation of the project for the future Montjuïc 360º trail, promoted by the Barcelona Excursion Promotion Board, forming part of the Plan Director de Camins del Parc Montjuïc drawn up by the Barcelona City Council and financed by the tax on stays in tourist establishments (IEET) which manages the Board of Tourism and Creative Industries. This trail is a project included in the Plà de Actuació del Parc Montjuïc 2019-2029 promoted by the District of Sants-Montjuïc. A day that promotes healthier and more sustainable European cities and communities This triple impact sport modality, practiced by more than 20,000 people in 110 countries, like all physical and sports activities, it is essential to maintain good body health, adding to its benefits the contribution to raising awareness about the importance of conserving natural spaces, and in this third edition adding an inscription with Solidarity purpose that is destined 100% to social entities. All citizens and entities interested in participating in the activity can formalize their registration for the day that will start at 9:45 a.m. from Plaça Josep Puig i Cadafalch, a strategic place with easy access from all parts of the city and of many municipalities in Catalonia. The event has the collaboration of Decathlon (an entity that celebrates 10 years of its Environmental Volunteering with the commitment to protect biodiversity), the island of Ibiza, Veritas and Garmin as the official watch. Registrations in the Nationale-Nederlanden Plogging Tour Barcelona are limited and have a symbolic cost of €5 for adults and groups, and €1 for children. The total collection of the bib numbers will be given to charitable-social entities, Montjuïc 360 will be the first footpath with a route that passes entirely within the city of Barcelona and will cover 11 kilometers from Montjuïc. It is a circular path, with little unevenness and suitable for everyone, designed by the Barcelona Excursionist Foment that passes through dozens of points of cultural and scenic interest in the mountains. It is a short-distance path approved by the Federation of Excursionist Organizations of Catalonia (FEEC).
