RTVE is organizing an electoral debate this Wednesday night with three of the candidates for the presidency of the Government, presented by the journalist Xabier Fortes, and lasting 90 minutes. The format will be structured in three thematic blocks — economy; social politics; and State pacts and post-electoral pacts– and there will also be a final turn of one minute for each participant (golden minute).
Estudio 6 in Prado del Rey (Madrid) hosts this electoral debate that will have the participation of the candidates Pedro Sánchez (PSOE), Santiago Abascal (Vox) and Yolanda Díaz (Sumar). The leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has declined to participate in RTVE’s proposal for a ‘debate to four’, as explained by the corporation in a statement.
Organized by RTVE, it will be broadcast live starting at 10:00 p.m. on La 1, Canal 24 Horas, TVE Internacional, Radio Nacional, Radio 5, Radio Exterior, the RTVE.es website and the RTVE Play platform. In addition, the chain will provide the live signal, under a pool system, to all the media that request it.
The opening and closing turns of each block and the positions of the candidates for the presidency of the Government on the set have been established by lottery. The stopwatches to measure the times of the interventions will be managed by professional sports referees.
Before the debate, special programs will be broadcast on RTVE: at 8:00 p.m. on the RNE news program ’24 Horas’ with Josep Cuní, and from 8:30 p.m. on La 1 and Canal 24 Horas, hosted by Carlos Franganillo and Alejandra Herranz, with all the context of this outstanding quote from the electoral campaign. And at the end, there will be a special post-debate program on La 1 and Canal 24 Horas, presented by Lluís Guilera, and on RNE the post-debate will continue with Josep Cuní.
