MADRID, 23 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Santi Denia will take charge of the Spanish Under-21 team, occupying the vacant position left by Luis de la Fuente after his “promotion” to the Absolute as the new coach, according to the RFEF on Monday, which offered its new sports organization chart for the lower categories “to continue growing with the objectives set”.
The coach from Albacete, a former international defender and who has been in the federation for several years, will thus stop directing the Under-19, with which he was proclaimed European champion in 2019. “Denia, a coach who has a lot of knowledge on the basis of national football, it will also participate in some concentration of other categories when it is considered so”, pointed out the RFEF.
His position in the Sub-19 will now be for José Lana, who will also remain in charge of the Sub-16 and Sub-15, while Julen Guerrero, on the other hand, will not move and will continue to lead the Sub-17 ” and will be added to concentrations of other categories when deemed appropriate”.
“All are technicians with experience and quality, and the RFEF has valued their qualities to face this restructuring with a new management model in the sports field,” warned the federative body.
In addition, the RFEF also announced that the lower categories will have Vicente Engonga as assistant coach, with Carlos Rivera and Antonio Gómez Díaz as physical trainers; Juan Carlos Arévalo as goalkeeping coach and Héctor Rincón and Alberto de la Fuente joining the analyst team.
On the other hand, Francis Hernández will continue as coordinator of the lower categories of the national team, attached to Albert Luque in the sports management of the Absolute and who will have Vicente Blanco ‘Tito’ as assistant, in charge of launching the sports management of the AFE, who was sports director of Levante UD, where he was promoted to the First Division, and of Oviedo, and who was part of the Deportivo Alavés technical secretariat.
“The arrival of ‘Tito’ Blanco is part of the RFEF’s firm commitment to the lower categories and the training of players. It is also part of the renewal undertaken a few weeks ago to give new impetus to the national team Absolute with the promotion of Luis de la Fuente and with the appointment of Albert Luque as director of the national team,” the federative entity remarked.
