TOLEDO, 1 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The courts of Castilla-La Mancha have so far reduced a total of 19 sentences under the application of the ‘only yes is yes’ law, of which one has led to the release of the convicted person.

This is reflected in the data offered by the Superior Court of Justice of Castilla-La Mancha (TSJCM) consulted by Europa Press, which indicates that, up to now, in the five provinces, 79 instances of reduction have been carried out, of which resolved 34, 19 with sentence reduction and 15 without it.

Specifically, in the Provincial Court of Albacete four reviews have been requested at the request of a party, the four resolved without lowering the sentence, and there are another 29 in process, all of them ex officio.

Regarding the Provincial Court of Ciudad Real, only the Second Section has clarified its data, while the First Section has not. In any case, in this Second Section, 24 sentence reviews have been requested, 8 at the request of a party and 16 more ex officio.

Of these 24 reviews, 9 have already been resolved, 6 without a reduction and another 3 with a sentence reduction, although none of them has led to their release. In addition, there are 15 more revisions pending.

In the Provincial Court of Cuenca, there have been, for its part, three reviews, all of them requested at the request of a party. Two of them have been resolved, one without reduction and another with reduction but without release, while the third is still pending.

In Guadalajara, the Provincial Court has carried out 10 revisions with reduced sentences for the convicted person in question. Of all of them, one has led to the release of the prisoner, while in the other nine cases there has been a reduction in sentence without release.

Finally, in the Provincial Court of Toledo, the First Section has resolved 5 reviews requested at the request of a party, of which 3 have concluded without reduction and the remaining 2 with reduction but without release.

Meanwhile, the Second Section has resolved 4 instances, also all of them at the request of a party. These reviews have concluded with 3 sentence reductions, although without release, and the remaining instance has been concluded without reduction.
