MADRID, 23 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Francisco Franco National Foundation has described the exhumation of the remains of the founder of the Falange, José Antonio Primo de Rivera, as a “ruinous and civil war action by the Government” and has described its president, Pedro Sánchez, as the “undisputed world champion of infamy” for his “miserable” action.
“The exhumation and forced transfer of the remains of José Antonio Primo de Rivera from the Basilica of Santa Cruz del Valle de los Caídos, in compliance with the Democratic Memory Law sponsored by the government partners and friends of ETA, will pass to the history of humanity as one of the worst infamies committed by a government in all time,” the foundation lamented in a statement.
In his opinion, the Executive wants to “rewrite history at will” and “try to eliminate the memory and tribute” to Primo de Rivera, who was “a model of nobility politically and personally, incompatible with a puny government that has made lies and betrayal its hallmarks”.
For the foundation, “it is impossible to imagine greater refinement in vileness” and “sad” to assume the “hatred that moves this Government”, which it has warned that “you are wrong if you think that with this new desecration you will be able to erase from memory collective” to the founder of the Falange, which, he has assured, he will keep “alive and present.
The mortal remains of the founder of Primo de Rivera will be exhumed tomorrow from the Valley of the Fallen and relocated in the San Isidro cemetery in Madrid. It will be his fifth burial since he was shot after being tried by the Republican authorities in 1936 in the Alicante jail, 86 years ago.
Precisely this Monday marks the 120th anniversary of the birth of the Falangist leader, on April 24, 1903, whose mortal remains will leave the Valley in compliance with the Democratic Memory Law and after an agreement with his relatives.
