Sémper charges the Government for “vetoing” Feijóo’s trip to Latvia to express his support for the troops deployed there

MADRID, 27 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The spokesman for the PP campaign committee, Borja Sémper, criticized on Monday the division within the Government over the shipment of weapons to Ukraine, with more ministers “pro-Russia than pro-Ukraine”. “If Pedro Sánchez is not capable of expressing a unanimous position of the Government, in the face of an illegitimate invasion by blood and fire by Russia, one of two: either there are too many ministers or he is too much,” he snapped at the Prime Minister.

In a press conference at the PP headquarters after the meeting of the PP Management Committee, Sémper has described as a “democratic anomaly” that Pedro Sánchez has appeared more times in the Ukrainian parliament than in Congress to talk about Spain’s support for Ukraine.

Immediately afterwards, he wondered why it is trying to prevent the Lower House from ruling on the shipment of arms and war material to this country and that it can express its support for the Ukrainian people in a “clear and clear” way.

At that point, Sémper has denounced that no one from the Government has contacted Feijóo regarding this matter and that the source of information is social networks or foreign information agencies. “That is neither reasonable nor sensible,” he has complained.

The spokesman for the PP campaign committee has criticized the fact that Alberto Nuñez Feijóo has been prevented from visiting the troops in Latvia to show their support and support coinciding with the anniversary of the war.

“One might intuit that there is a reason: the existing division in the government, which makes us an exception and an anomaly in Europe, with a government made up of ministers that are more pro-Russia than pro-Ukraine and that is incapable of showing unity in this matter”

At this point, Semper has censured the “veto” on that trip and the “contradictory responses” of the Government to justify the rejection of that trip to Latvia which, according to the PP, had the endorsement of NATO and the country’s prime minister. “The patrimonialization of the Armed Forces should be something that no political leader does”, he has proclaimed.

After assuring that the “public and notorious troubles of the Government damage the image” of Spain, which in a few months will assume the Presidency of the EU, has asked the coalition government of PSOE and Unidas Podemos to “cease the conflict over the conflict” and to clarify his position on Ukraine, because if Sánchez is not capable of expressing a unanimous position on the invasion, “either there are too many ministers or he is too much”.
