MADRID, 14 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The PSOE is willing for the Interior Commission of Congress to analyze the contracting of works in Civil Guard barracks, now that Justice is investigating irregularities in awards to certain businessmen (Cuarteles case), but will not accept opening an investigation commission to the in this regard, according to what socialist sources have assured Europa Press.
Throughout this Tuesday, the partners of the Government have been giving different versions to justify their rejection of the Board of Spokespersons setting a date for the debate of the investigation commission requested by the PP on the ‘Mediator case’ and the activities of the former deputy Socialist Juan Bernardo Fuentes Curbelo, forced to leave the seat.
Bildu began by saying that, in exchange for rejecting the PP commission, its formation and ERC were going to ask that this investigation be extended to the hiring of the Civil Guard, but then Esquerra spoke of a different and specific investigation commission on the ‘case Quarters’.
In fact, the ERC spokesman in Congress, Gabriel Rufián, was referring to an agreement with United PSOE and EH Bildu to reject the initiative presented by the PP and reorient it towards hiring the Armed Institute.
Rufián has admitted that it was “very difficult” to reject the PP’s request but that they have found the aforementioned formula to “get around” the “opportunism” with which, in his opinion, the “popular” are conducting themselves on this issue, since It is “Kafkaesque” that Alberto Núñez Feijóo’s party promotes “an investigation into corruption.”
Thus, according to Rufián, the pact reached with the PSOE consists, in addition to halting the investigation requested by the PP, in the creation of a specific investigation commission to investigate the “Cuarteles case” and the possibility of calling those involved in it to testify. the ‘mediator case’, like the former deputy nicknamed ‘tito Berni’ himself in other ordinary commissions of Congress such as the Interior or the Democratic Quality.
The PSOE, however, has wanted to make it clear that it will not be a new investigation commission, but that the issue will be analyzed in the Interior Commission.
The fundamental difference between one model and another is that the appearance in an investigation commission is mandatory, but not in an ordinary commission. And the same happens with the request for documents.
