VALENCIA, 25 Apr. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Valencian start-up Voramar Fanplastic has created designer bags from single-use plastic bags, made by communities of women who suffer from social or economic inequality in the province of Valencia.

It is “the first sustainable, social, light and waterproof ‘tote bag’, obtained by an innovative technique in the Valencian Community, developed from plastic bags from shops and companies that care about the circular economy”, they point out the entrepreneurs responsible for the project.

This collection, which will be launched in May, is the result of the thermofusion technique. It was prepared by entities that work for the inclusion of women in the workplace, such as the Mil.una de Sagunt association and the NGO Proyectos Extraordinarios de Benetússer.

The company was selected in the acceleration programs of the seventh edition of the Col·lab program, at the Las Naves innovation center. “We live in a consumer society in which we do not stop generating waste. Single-use bags become multi-use bags, even more so if we disclose the stories of the people behind the manufacture of each one of them,” they explain. Noelia Coll and Nadine Strzelczyk as founders of the start-up.

Noelia and Nadine began weaving crochet bags with plastic in a neighborhood association in Cabanyal, together with women from the neighborhood. Over time they have expanded their women’s network to various associations, in Valencia and surroundings.

“We are committed to improving community well-being, directly and indirectly benefiting everyone,” the entrepreneurs explain. “We are social beings. The more comfortable the people around us are (mothers, friends, neighbors…), the more We’ll be happy.”

The company thus opens up to other business avenues such as the manufacture of personalized products for companies, the development of ‘teambuilding’ workshops or providing circular economy solutions to businesses and organizations, reusing their plastic waste to turn it into their ‘merchandising’.

At the same time, the entrepreneurs are investigating new techniques to reconvert the plastic from the bags into large pieces with which to create a greater variety of bags and accessories. Its products are displayed in ‘corners’ of multi-brand stores and ‘pop-up stores’ in other cities such as Barcelona, ??hand in hand with the online platform for conscious brands The Platform, among other actions.
