MADRID, 16 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish power forward Willy Hernangómez shone this morning with a ‘double-double’ in the defeat (120-102) of the New Orleans Pelicans against some solid Lakers led by a great Anthony Davis, on a night in which he also completed a good Santi Aldama performance with Memphis Grizzlies, who beat (117-111) over Utah Jazz.

Willy Hernangómez demonstrated once again that he knows how to take advantage of the limited opportunities offered to him in the Louisiana franchise. Against the Lakers, he enjoyed just over 16 minutes on the track, adding 14 points (5/7 from the field) and 11 rebounds. He was far more productive and efficient than starter Jonas Valanciunas, scoring fewer goals (12) in double the time on the floor.

After a game in which they only gave ‘war’ before the break, the Pelicans lost, but remain in ‘play-in’ positions in the West, with a record of 30-29. While the Los Angeles franchise, led by an extraordinary Davis (28 points and 10 rebounds) and the reliability and consistency of LeBron James (21), continues to climb towards the positions that allow them to fight for the title.

On a good night for the Spaniards, Aldama once again scored notable with Memphis against the Jazz, thanks to his 10 points (4/8 from the field and 2/2 from 3-pointers), 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals in 21 minutes. Jaren Jackson Jr. finished the match as the top scorer for the Grizzlies (26 points) to save the poor performance of a very ‘failed’ Ja Morant (20) (8/26 in field goals and 1/8 in triples). Those from Tennessee are second in the West and Utah is fighting to enter the ‘play-in’.

Finally, Usman Garuba did not get a ‘cut’ from his almost 15 minutes on the track, in which he only grabbed 4 rebounds and gave 1 assist, in addition to registering 1 steal. The Rockets, the worst team in the NBA, received a corrective (133-96) from the Oklahoma City Thunder with the special contribution of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (29 points) to stay in the ‘play-in’ in the West.

WILLY HERNANGÓMEZ: 14 points and 11 rebounds.

SANTI ALDAMA: 10 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals.

USMAN GARUBA: 4 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal.
