VALENCIA, 29 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Royal Academy of Engineering (RAI) has awarded Daniel Pérez-López, co-founder of iPronics, a spin off of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), one of its Agustín de Betancourt y Molina Medals.
These awards recognize the work of young researchers and professionals in the field of engineering in Spain, who contribute to laying the foundations and/or promoting new developments and innovations in any of their professional fields. Likewise, they specifically value aspects related to technology transfer.
“Having the recognition of an institution like the Royal Academy of Engineering is special and helps us, once again, to make visible the immense work we do at iPronics to lead the development of cutting-edge technology in Spain,” says Daniel in a statement. Perez-Lopez.
iPronics’ work focuses on the development of systems integrated into silicon circuits -chips- that use optical signals to perform signal processing at high speed and with reduced power consumption. “To achieve this, we have had to innovate and provide unprecedented flexibility to integrated photonic circuits,” adds Daniel Pérez-López.
In addition to this recognition, Daniel Pérez-López recently received an ERC-Starting Grant from the European Research Council and was also included as one of the 100 most influential people in integrated photonics in its 2022 edition. In addition, iPronics has also been selected as one of the international reference companies in the sector, within the Silicon 100: Startups Worth Watching in 2023 list.
