VALENCIA, 27 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Valencian Generalitat has announced the launch of a digital platform accessible through the Internet for the electronic presentation of documents and monitoring of renewable energy files, with the aim of “avoiding duplication” and allowing the monitoring of projects, especially those of photovoltaic exploitations.
In this way, these files will be given “the boost that they currently urgently need”, according to the regional Secretary of Industry, Felipe Carrasco, who chaired this Monday the Interdepartmental Commission on Renewable Energies of the Generalitat, in which they have participated the general director of Energy, Manuel Argüelles, and the general director of Urban Planning, Landscape and Environmental Assessment of the Department of Environment, Water, Infrastructure and Territory, Miguel Ángel Ivorra.
As pointed out by the regional Secretary of Industry, “the processing of files for renewable energy exploitations, and especially photovoltaics, is a complex process that involves different legal, environmental and technical aspects.”
In this sense, he considers that streamlining this process “necessarily involves working in close collaboration and in a coordinated manner between the different administrative departments involved, it is an essential step to materialize the Valencian Government’s renewable energy shock plan,” as reported. the Generalitat in a statement.
The interdepartmental commission will review and simplify the legal and regulatory framework related to photovoltaic exploitations “to eliminate redundancies and streamline the approval process.” Likewise, “standardized” processes will be developed for the processing of files, which “will facilitate the review and approval of similar projects.”
Thus, “in addition to attracting investment in this industry, it will be possible to substantially increase the necessary photovoltaic generation in the Valencian Community,” Carrasco defended.
Other aspects that have been addressed in the first Interdepartmental Commission on Renewable Energy of the Generalitat have referred to the need to provide constant training to the officials in charge of reviewing files to “improve efficiency and understanding of the technical and normative”.
Finally, the importance of considering environmental and social sustainability when promoting renewable energy projects has become clear. Along these lines, we will seek to incorporate effective citizen participation mechanisms to “address local concerns and guarantee a transparent process.”
Likewise, the prior completion of a risk assessment will be studied to identify “possible obstacles and propose solutions before interested parties can begin the formal processing process.”
