Four more procedures will be carried out: two statements and two documentary contributions

BARCELONA, 4 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The mayor of Barcelona, ??Ada Colau, has said that they will collaborate with the justice system after the reopening this Friday by the Barcelona Court of the case in which the Court of Instruction 21 was investigating the mayor for these irregularities in subsidies: “No We have absolutely nothing to hide.”

Speaking to journalists this Friday, Colau criticized the possibility of “artificially lengthening a case that the Prosecutor’s Office and a court have already concluded had absolutely no basis.”

According to the car consulted by Europa Press this Friday, the magistrates estimate the resource of the Association for transparency and democratic quality, which promoted the case and asked to reopen it when it was filed.

Colau has lamented that justice can be misused and that a “phantom entity like this can abuse public resources and the courts for clearly political intentions of making noise and casting a shadow of doubt on the City Council of Barcelona”.

“If they intend to scare us, they achieve the opposite, they reaffirm our objectives”, settled the first mayor, who has claimed the work to promote citizen participation, the debate on public water management, or the defense of the right to housing against the vulture funds, in their terms.

The mayor has said that they will collaborate with justice, has claimed excellence –in her words– of the internal municipal services, and has insisted on knowing who is behind and who finances the entity “that is allowed to sue repeatedly” against the City Council and against her.

Specifically, the procedures that will be carried out are the declaration of the general comptroller and “a person who has a blog”, and two documentary contributions: the annual summary of the annual intervention report and other files of subsidies to the same social entities in the same period.

For Colau’s lawyer, Alex Solà, the reports have shown that the matter has been done correctly from an administrative point of view, and has recognized “possible opinions on the opportunity or limits of direct awards”, but that, According to him, they would not have overcome even an administrative dispute.

“Now we will extend this cause for a little while longer, we will do some more diligence. I think that in the end there will be no way to continue to maintain any shadow of doubt regarding the municipal action in this case,” the defense has maintained.

Asked about the schedule of the proceedings, Solà said that they have “months ahead” due to the situation in the courts and has not ruled out that it will end up coinciding with the municipal election campaign in May.
