VITORIA, 28 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has assured, regarding possible post-election pacts, that his objective is “to obtain enough deputies to be president” and not to see which parties he needs. “The objective is not to see how many deputies and from which political parties I need to be president of the Government, the objective is to obtain the number of deputies sufficient to be president of the Government,” he asserted.

This was explained in a conference offered in Vitoria organized by the newspaper El Correo, under the title “Objetivo Actualidad”, in which he recalled that, during his career as head of the Government in Galicia, he had tried to make the formation of Santiago Abascal did not enter the regional Parliament, and it succeeded. However, as he has explained, that does not mean that he will achieve “the same thing in the Congress of Deputies.”

Feijóo has highlighted that his objective is “to govern with a majority of Spaniards who, at this moment, believe that the alternative to Sánchez’s party, to Podemos and to the Basque and Catalan independence movement, is the PP”. “If I get that majority of Spaniards who give me that opportunity, I will govern,” he assured.

Asked about possible post-election agreements with Vox, he has stated that during his political career he has tried to prevent the formation of Santiago Abascal “from entering the Galician Parliament.” “I have achieved it, it does not mean that we achieve the same in the Congress of Deputies, but the objective is not to see how many deputies and from which political parties I need to be president of the Government, the objective is to obtain the number of deputies sufficient to be President of the Government”, he pointed out.
