The Brazilian club received a proposal from Real Madrid and another from FC Barcelona
BARCELONA, 18 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The ex-director of Santos FC Odilio Rodrigues declared as a defendant this Tuesday in the trial for the ‘Neymar 2 case’, which has been going on since Monday at the Barcelona Court, and has recounted how the now Paris Saint-Germain striker decided to sign for Barca in 2013.
Rodrigues, accused of alleged fraud in the transfer of the player, has detailed that Neymar received an offer from FC Barcelona for which the Brazilian club would receive 17 million euros, and another from Real Madrid for which Santos would receive 30 million.
“We called Neymar’s father, we gave him the two proposals and we told him that Madrid’s proposal was more interesting for us,” Rodrigues said during his statement.
Later, the player’s father – who is also his representative – asked to meditate on the two proposals and “two days later Neymar Júnior published on social media that Barcelona had chosen”.
The Prosecutor’s Office asks for a three-year prison sentence for Rodrigues for alleged fraud, while Neymar and his parents face a request for a five-year sentence for alleged fraud and corruption in the transfer of the player from Santos FC to Barça.
This Tuesday morning it was the player’s turn to question the player, who said that he did not participate in the negotiations for his signing but that his father was in charge.
