Neymar Junior’s father, Neymar Santos, has acknowledged that since 2009 “Real Madrid has always made offers to Neymar” although he added that his son wanted to play for FC Barcelona since he was a child, a club with which he signed a priority agreement before his signing for the azulgrana team from the Brazilian Santos FC.
“Neymar, since he was 12 years old, has proposals. When there is a transfer window there are always offers. Real Madrid has always made offers to him since 2009. He wanted to play for Barça since he was a child”, declared Neymar da Silva Santos this Tuesday in the Barcelona Court, in the trial in which his son is accused of alleged fraud and corruption in his transfer to Barça.
The prosecutor has stated that in 2011 the player agreed to sign for Barça for 36 million and, however, when he finally did so in 2013 the sum amounted to 46 million, which the father and representative of the footballer has justified by saying that “things changed, in 2011 it was a promise and, in 2013, it was a reality”.
Neymar father has assured that he always believed to act legally and has been asked by the company N
For her part, Neymar’s mother, Nadine Gonçalves, has answered a single question from the Prosecutor’s Office to declare that she did not participate in the negotiation of any contract for her son with Barça.
Neymar’s parents are accused, like their son, of alleged corruption and fraud in the transfer of the player: for the father, the Prosecutor’s Office asks for a two-year prison sentence and, for the mother, a one-year sentence.
