The shooting guard of the Spanish basketball team, Darío Brizuela, stressed this Monday that although they do not like not having won more than one of the four friendlies in preparation for the Eurobasket, “the objective is to make a team” for a continental event in which will try to be helping “as much as I can”.
“The feeling we have is that it is true that we have only won one of the four friendlies and that bothers us because we are competitive, but, in the end, the goal is to make a team because there are a lot of new people and we have to get used to play with each other,” said Brizuela after the team’s training in Pamplona ahead of Wednesday’s qualifying match for the 2023 World Cup against Iceland.
The Unicaja player is also clear that, although they have only beaten Greece and lost to the Greek team in Athens and in the two duels against Lithuania, “the good thing” is that they are “competing in all the games”. “No matter how bad things get, we’ve always stood up, we’ve come back and we’ve reached the end with options,” he warned.
About his options to be in the final list for the Eurobasket in September, the Basque was clear. “I try to help as much as I can with my skills or whatever Sergio (Scariolo) asks me for.
