The leader of the PP asks the Government again to lower personal income tax withholdings so that families can better face the start of the school year
PORTO DO SON (A CORUÑA), 18 Aug. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has predicted today that Pedro Sánchez will promote a remodeling of his Executive, “the most precarious in Spanish democracy, with 40 ministers appointed in three years and most unknown to 70% of Spaniards” . “The president said that he will not do it and, the last time, he did it after nine days,” he argued.
At this juncture, he has urged the socialist leader to take the opportunity to reduce the number of ministries, senior officials and advisers. “It is not possible to maintain the most expensive government in democracy in the most expensive summer in the last 40 years due to inflation,” he stated, before asking for “containment” from a government that “lives above its country.”
The leader of the PP has taken advantage of a visit to Porto do Son (A Coruña) this Thursday to reiterate to the Government led by Pedro Sánchez, in a context marked by rising inflation, some of his proposals in economic matters and also to return to advocating “sitting down” to “do reasonable things” in the field of energy.
Thus, Feijóo has once again asked the Government to reduce personal income tax withholdings for families with low and medium incomes so that they can better face the start of the school year.
The popular leader has stressed that this is a proposal made “months ago” by the formation he directs and that it has not been “heeded” by the Government and has stressed that it would be an appropriate time for it to be taken into account.
Not surprisingly, he has described the advance data on job destruction in August as “very worrying”. “In the event of a loss of more than 187,000 jobs in August, in high tourist season, we are not kidding this fall,” she warned.
And in this scenario, he has insisted on “sitting down” to put aside “improvised” measures, and take “reasonable” steps in energy matters “listening to those who know, to the autonomous communities and to the productive sectors of the country”.
Faced with “improvised decrees”, he has focused on the industrial fabric and has warned of the “serious problems” suffered by electro-intensive companies due to the energy cost situation.
