MADRID, 17 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, will make a tour of Latin America next week that will take him to Colombia, Ecuador and Honduras, as reported by Moncloa on Wednesday.

The tour, the first made by Sánchez to the region this year, will start on August 24 in Colombia, where its new president, the leftist Gustavo Petro, took office on August 7. The president already visited this country in August 2018 as part of his first visit to the region after his arrival at the Moncloa Palace.

The President of the Government will then travel to Ecuador, where its President, Guillermo Lasso, announced precisely this Tuesday that he would travel to Houston (United States) to undergo tests after being diagnosed with carcinoma. At the moment Moncloa has not advanced the content of Sánchez’s agenda in Quito.

The last stage of the tour, which will last until August 26, will take the chief executive to Tegucigalpa, where he is expected to meet with the country’s president, the leftist Xiomara Castro, in power since last January. In the case of both Ecuador and Honduras, it will be the first time that Sánchez visits these countries.
