LONDON, 26 Jul. (DPA/EP) –
The future of Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo at Manchester United could be decided in the next few hours, after the footballer and his agent, also Portuguese Jorge Mendes, have traveled to the English team’s sports city to meet with the club’s coach, Erik ten Hag.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Jorge Mendes appeared at the sports city of Carrington this Tuesday to meet with Erik Ten Hag, after the Portuguese was not present in the pre-season that the Manchester team carried out in Thailand and Australia for personal reasons.
The rumors about the future of Cristiano Ronaldo do not stop after the non-classification of Manchester United for the next edition of the Champions League. The ‘red devils’ will play in 2022-23 in the Europa League.
After his arrival, Ten Hag was asked about Cristiano Ronaldo, whom he said was in his “plans” and that “he is not for sale”. The Portuguese had returned to Manchester United in the summer of 2021 from Juventus, but his first year at the club did not go as expected in terms of team performance.
Manchester United will start the ‘Premier League’ hosting Brighton on August 7, although before that they will play two more games, one in Norway against Atlético de Madrid and another at Old Trafford against Rayo Vallecano.
