Amazon has announced that it will increase the price of the monthly and annual subscription to Prime, reaching 4.99 euros and 49.90 euros respectively from September 15 of this year.
The company has begun to send an email notification to customers of its Prime service in which it communicates what the conditions of its service will be soon and what these changes are due to.
Specifically, as of September 15, 2022, the price of the monthly subscription to Prime will increase from 3.99 euros to 4.99 euros per month, while the price of the annual subscription to Prime will be 49.90 euros per month. year, instead of the 36 euros per year that it currently costs.
The company has indicated that users can check the renewal date of their subscription plan, as well as modify or cancel it at any time from their user profile, in the ‘My account’ and ‘Your subscriptions’ section.
On the other hand, Amazon has indicated that this increase in the rate will be made “based on and in accordance with Clause 5 of the Amazon Prime Terms and Conditions” and justifies that it is due “to the general and material increase in the levels of spending to cause of the increase in inflation that affects the specific costs of the Prime service in Spain”.
Likewise, he has pointed out that these “are due to external circumstances that do not depend on Amazon” and that this is the first time that the price of its subscription service has increased since August 2018.
Finally, it has indicated that, during this time, it has increased the selection of available products, as well as added and expanded services such as ultra-fast delivery of fresh supermarket products.
It has also mentioned that it has added “more high-quality digital entertainment”, such as series, movies, games, music or books, and that it has increased the number of Amazon Originals series and movies.
