The listing of businesses and organizations seeking to cut business ties with President Donald Trump following last week’s assault on the Capitol is becoming more.
Palm Beach County in Florida said it’s exploring finishing its lease with the president precious Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach. The information was reported from The Palm Beach Post.
The primary assistant county attorney, Howard Falcon, told NBC News on Friday that a county officer had approached him to ask if it had been possible to cancel the rental, citing”what occurred in the funding” a week, Falcon said.
A lawyer for Trump’s golf program, who wasn’t identified, told the Post that there was”no explanation for canceling the lease”
“I really don’t think we could do it, honestly,” Falcon told NBC News. “To be able to have the ability to finish a contract with the Trump Organization, we’d have to have legal rights means to doing this.”
Besides Palm Beach County, the Girl Scouts will also be looking to draw from a rental together with the Trump Organization.
“As an issue of very large priority, our company has been investigating options for getting from this lease and the construction,” Girl Scouts of Greater New York CEO Meridith Maskara stated in a statement offered to NBC News. “We continue to explore our choices and work to obtain an office area that will best serve the women of nyc.”
The building’s agent, the real estate agency company Cushman & Wakefield, also announced this week it would be cutting ties with all the Trump Organization, a company spokesperson told NBC News Wednesday. The company joins a ton of different banks and associations who’ve formally severed connections with the president.
The Trump Building, that Trump obtained in 1995, is among the president’s most valuable resources, worth roughly $400 million, according to Forbes.
