The deadline to apply ends tomorrow and there are at least eleven cities interested in the Space Agency and twelve in the AI
MADRID, 6 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Government’s advisory commission, chaired by the Minister of Territorial Policy, Isabel Rodríguez, will now be in charge of preparing an opinion evaluating the candidacies to host the headquarters of the Spanish Space Agency and that of the Supervision of Artificial Intelligence. In addition, this working body may propose other cities that meet the established criteria.
The deadline for submitting applications to host these venues ends this Monday, November 7. When this day passes, the Government Commission will have to meet to analyze all the cities that have applied, although there is still no official date for holding this appointment.
According to the order of the BOE that determines the deadlines in this process, as of Tuesday, the investigating body of the procedure will request a report in the next twenty days from the Ministry of affiliation and the institutions that it considers can contribute to shaping the decision regarding the campus.
And with these reports, the Government Commission will prepare an opinion that will analyze the candidacies to host the headquarters of the Spanish Space Agency and the Supervision of Artificial Intelligence, being able to incorporate other cities that have not applied but that do comply with the criteria.
Finally, it will be the Council of Ministers who will adopt the final agreement on the location of the headquarters of these new agencies, which will be published in the BOE within a maximum period of six months from the start of the procedure.
When there is barely one day left before the deadline, at least eleven cities have already applied to host the headquarters of the Spanish Space Agency: Teruel, León, Tres Cantos (Madrid), Ciudad Real, Elche, Seville, Huelva, San Javier (Murcia), Gran Canaria, Tenerife and a municipality in the Basque Country.
Meanwhile, at least twelve municipalities aspire to have the Artificial Intelligence Supervision headquarters: Barcelona, ??La Coruña, Alicante, Gijón, Zaragoza, Segovia, Salamanca, Guadalajara, Alicante, Palma de Mallorca, Granada and Tenerife.
To determine these venues, the Executive of Pedro Sánchez established criteria that have even been appealed to the National High Court by Teruel Exists.
And it is that, in the case of the Spanish Space Agency, the Government will positively assess that the future headquarters is less than an hour from an international airport with connections to Amsterdam, Rome, Frankfurt, Prague and Toulouse, which are the foreign destinations which will most often be visited on business trips by agency staff.
