The president believes that “it does not solve anything and raises many more questions”

BARCELONA, 3 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The president of the Generalitat, Pere Aragonès, has rejected the last proposal put forward by Junts to redo the crisis of the Government even though it no longer included the condition of restoring Jordi Puigneró as vice president.

Puigneró himself revealed this Monday in a Rac1 interview collected by Europa Press that Junts sent on Sunday night -when the deadline set to negotiate with Aragonès expired- a last proposal that the president rejected.

Aragonès and Turull had a conversation on Sunday morning that did not bear fruit and the disagreement was maintained, and in the afternoon there were no more contacts until Junts sent a final proposal at night, although it did not serve to unblock the Executive’s crisis either.

Presidency sources have replied that late on Sunday night Junts sent “a brief and generic text message” modifying some aspects of the document, but they criticize that it was not an elaborate proposal like the one sent by Junts on Friday, but that It was limited to a WhatsApp message.

Despite the fact that Junts withdrew the reinstatement of Puigneró, these sources have criticized that in this last proposal they maintained that the pro-independence strategic management space is “subject” to the Consell de la República, something that already blocked the investiture negotiations for three months and that Aragonès has always rejected.

“It does not resolve anything and raises many more questions. In any case, we will be attentive to what Junts decides,” add these sources, who assure that Junts also maintained the rest of the conditions — choosing its delegation to the dialogue and coordination table with ERC in Congress to jointly negotiate the General State Budgets (PGE)– with some variation.

In this way, the term set by Junts to explore a negotiation with Aragonès has expired without any agreement between the partners of the Government.

This Monday morning the Junts Executive will prepare the question that it will submit to its bases in the consultation that will be held on Thursday 6 and Friday 7 to decide whether or not to leave the Catalan Executive.
