Fiber optic lines to the home (FTTH) exceeded 13.2 million in June after increasing by 66,894 lines compared to the previous month, according to the latest data regarding the telecommunications market published this Wednesday by the National Commission of Markets and the Competition (CNMC).

Compared to June 2021, the number of fiber optic lines has increased by 1.1 million, compared to the loss of 500,000 lines with DSL technology.

77.4% of the total lines were concentrated in the three main operators: Movistar, Orange (including Jazztel) and Vodafone (including Ono), according to the CNMC, while 37.3% of the FTTH lines correspond to Movistar, with a fleet of 4.9 million lines.

According to data from Competition, the mobile telephony park gained 123,631 lines in June, up to a total of 56.61 million lines, 2.5% more than the same month last year. The three main operators represented 72.9% of the total mobile lines in the market.

In June, 526,398 mobile numbers were ported, which is 6.8% less than in the same month of 2021.

According to the CNMC, the MásMóvil group and the virtual mobile operators (OMV) registered positive net portability balances, while Vodafone, Orange and Movistar presented negative balances.

The voice park with mobile broadband lost 22,985 lines in June, reaching 49.49 million lines. However, this figure is 3.8% higher than that of the same month in 2021.

The total of fixed telephone lines reached 18.23 million lines in June, with 36,608 lines less than in May. 141,460 fixed numbers were ported, 23.9% less than in June 2021.

The NEBA indirect access service (FTTH and copper) lost 3,267 lines in the sixth month of the year and accumulates 1,026,508 lines, of which 991,782 are fiber. The month of June ended with 2,118,232 local NEBA lines.
