He goes to the High Court after the failed attempt at conciliation with the Minister of Equality
MADRID, 20 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Rafael Marcos, the ex-partner of María Sevilla -the former president of Infancia Libre pardoned by the Government after being sentenced to two years and four months in prison for child abduction- has filed a lawsuit against the Minister of Equality, Irene Montero, in the Supreme Court considering that he presented him as “an abuser”.
Legal sources have confirmed to Europa Press that the Civil Chamber of the High Court has already received the lawsuit for an alleged violation of honor filed against Montero for the statements he made on May 25 at the inauguration of the new headquarters of the Women’s Institute.
That day, after the pardon granted to Seville was made public, the Minister for Equality pointed out that the State “owes a debt” to “protective mothers” and that it must “be able to protect” these women who “protect themselves themselves and their children from sexist violence”.
The ex-husband of Seville assures that in this context the minister “presented” him as an “abuser of both his son and his ex-partner”. For this reason, last June she demanded a compensation of 85,000 euros from Montero and asked him to publish a rectification acknowledging “the uncertainty” of his statements.
In addition, Marcos asked the head of Equality to attend a conciliation act as a prerequisite to be able to file a lawsuit for alleged illegitimate interference in the right to honor.
On the day that the conciliation act was scheduled, Montero’s lawyer informed the Court of First Instance Number 35 of Madrid that he would not attend, thus refusing to reach an agreement with Marcos.
In view of this scenario, the legal team of the ex-husband of Seville has filed a lawsuit before the Supremo, where Montero appears as a fortress due to his condition of deputy and minister of the Executive.
