MADRID, 16 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Spanish rider Pol Espargaró (Repsol Honda) has assured that both he and the team are “working hard” to try to redirect their situation in the MotoGP World Championship, and he hopes that the changes can already be noticed at the Austrian Grand Prix next Weekend.
“We are going to see how we perform this weekend, from the Repsol Honda team and HRC we are working hard to improve our situation,” he said in statements provided by his team.
The man from Granollers recalled that the races at the Spielberg Circuit “always tend to be quite spectacular” and “it tends to be a good weekend”. It is a very particular track with a lot of very strong braking, a lot of ‘stop and go’ and few curves”, he analyzed.
“I’m interested to see what the new chicane is like, the straight to the top of the hill has always been very fast, so I think this will be very different. Our goal is to have a consistent weekend and qualify better, that’s the key,” he continued.
For his part, his teammate Stefan Bradl confessed that it is “nice to race again in Austria.” “I have good experience on this track in recent years, so it won’t be like Silverstone where I had to remember the track. With shorter layouts like this, the gaps in MotoGP get even smaller so you have to work find every tenth, because it can make a big difference in practice and on the grid”, he concluded.
