MADRID, 29 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The president of the Xunta de Galicia, Alfonso Rueda, has demanded that the chief executive, Pedro Sánchez, not hold “bilateral meetings” with communities such as Catalonia when negotiating the reform of the regional financing model, because, according to said, “it creates a lot of suspicion” in the rest of the regional executives.
In statements to the Cope chain, collected by Europa Press, the Galician president has commented on one of the issues that he addressed with Sánchez at his meeting this Thursday in La Moncloa, that of regional financing, although he admits the complexity of agreeing to all communities.
However, Rueda has insisted that the first thing would be to “sit down” all the autonomous communities to start negotiating this new model and stresses that all the regions will have to “give in” because they defend different interests.
Regarding yesterday’s appointment with the chief executive, Rueda has assured that he will not return to Galicia “empty-handed”, but has again pointed out that they will be “vigilant” to see if the commitments made by Sánchez are finally fulfilled.
