MADRID, 10 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, announced this Thursday that PSOE and United We Can present a legislative initiative in Congress tomorrow to reform the crime of sedition, which will be called “aggravated public disorder”.
This has been stated in an interview in La Sexta, collected by Europa Press, in which he has indicated that the new criminal type will be “more or less comparable” with other European democracies such as Germany, France, Italy, Belgium and Switzerland and the penalties for these crimes will be those that govern the criminal codes of those countries.
In addition, he has denied that this is a requirement of the ERC to approve the General State Budgets (PGE) and that on the contrary he has claimed it “always”, while pointing out that in recent weeks there are parliamentary groups that have said who are willing to undertake this reform.
