The general coordinator of the Popular Party, Elías Bendodo, assured this Wednesday that there is progress “at a good pace” in the negotiation to renew the General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ) and that they hope that the agreement will arrive “sooner than later”.

The ‘popular’ has emphasized that “progress is being made in a way that has not been done before”, although he did not want to give more details to protect the negotiations and that they come to fruition. “He allows us to be as cautious as possible,” he added.

That yes, Bendodo has defended that the will of the PP to renew the CGPJ has been “clear and clear from minute one”, at the same time that he has stressed that since last July the Government has on the table the Genoa proposal .

Next, he pointed out that the PP’s position has not changed and is in line with achieving greater judicial independence while meeting the requirements of the European Union. “I hope that an agreement can be reached on this line soon,” he added.
