The union of professional soccer players of France (UNFP) has censored this Thursday the president of LaLiga, Javier Tebas, after the renewal of Kylian Mbappé by Paris Saint-Germain, which the Spanish leader considered “an insult to soccer” since the French have not respected financial ‘fair play’.
In the union they indicate that since Mbappé announced his decision to continue in Ligue 1, Spain “has honked the horn” since then. “We can listen, understand the disappointment of the people of Madrid and their compatriots, even knowing, especially in the world of football, that you don’t always win and that it is possible to say ‘no’ to Real Madrid even for the third time”.
“But showing misunderstanding does not justify disrespecting the player, his club and all of French football in this way, unless we call into question the freedom of a footballer to sign a contract with the club of his choice.” , continues the union in a statement published this Thursday.
“The arrogance of the comments made here and there is shocking and there is no need to reply here to our Spanish friends who hardly have lessons to give French football in terms of economic management, protectionism and equality…”, adds the UNFP .
“Once again, the most angry is Javier Tebas who, in the case of PSG, forgets to put his tongue in his mouth seven times before speaking. And his offensive, hateful comments, without restraint or foundation, embarrass and discredit him, especially regarding his position”, they point out about the Spanish president.
