The Spanish province of Catalonia wants to develop with IdentiCAT a digital identity solution for its citizens. It is not state control, but more self-determination and privacy on the side of the Catalans.

The government of the Spanish province of Catalonia is planning a block chain-based identity solution with the name “IdentiCAT”. The Catalan news website VilaWeb has reported. Then IdentiCAT was last Saturday, the 8. September, of the Catalan President Quim Torra, as well as the Minister for Digital government and Public administration, Jordi Puigneró, was presented. The politician stressed that IdentiCAT should not be used to monitor the Catalans.
