VALENCIA, 22 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –

The Acadèmia Valenciana de l’Audiovisual (AVAV) launches the video game contest ‘Explore València: an interactive journey through its neighborhoods’, a project to look for ideas for video games or interactive products linked to sustainable tourism as the main novelty.

The idea is to create an interactive experience that generates synergies between neighbors and visitors and highlights the neighborhoods of Valencia. A didactic way of combining elements of sustainability, tourism, culture, characters and local history in a fun, enjoyable and respectful way with the environment, explains the organization.

The call, open until June 25, is looking for talented students and professionals who develop and design video games to create an interactive experience that guides players through various neighborhoods of the city.

Among the suggestions are the routes that the Valencia City Council proposes in neighborhoods such as Benimámet, historically a place chosen to live by Muslims or the upper bourgeoisie of the early 20th century and cradle of famous architects; El Cabanyal, the neighborhood of Sorolla’s light and the passion of the Seafaring Holy Week; Malvarrosa, another neighborhood that overlooks the sea, and Patraix, where a medieval tour of the time of Jaume I or the agrarian origins linked to the orchard is offered.

The winning projects will be announced on July 6 within the framework of OWN – Connect, a digital innovation meeting in Valencia. The competition will award three prizes: the first, endowed with 6,000 euros to develop the selected project; the second, specialized mentoring offered by ESAT, valued at 1,200 euros, and a third prize in which a diploma will be awarded. Participants can find the information on the website ‘https://gamingavav.lasnaves.com/’.

‘Explora València’ has funding from the City Council and the collaboration of Las Naves, ESAT (Higher School of Art and Technology) and OWN Connect.
